Saturday Evening January 22,
2005
After Dinner (Conditions permitting)

Full Moon Sail The event organizers are
trying something new this year. After dinner we're
planning on having a full-moon sail. Talk to the
event organizers when you get there for the update.
If you sail for the day, you may want to bring
another set of clothes to change into for the night
time run. The evening plans will be determined at
dinner (Heros
Keswick).
The moon will be almost full
which will offer us many more hours of sailing into
the evening. This may not be for everyone. For those
of you who have never been out sailing after dark,
it is a
unique experience.
We require a clear sky to get the
best moonlight so lets keep our fingers crossed. An
announcement will be made the day of the festival
when we have a better handle on the weather.
To make the night fly safe for all, it is suggested
that lights of some kind be worn by all sailors. A
few options are: glow sticks, maglites, etc. The
lights are best mounted away from your face (eyes)
as they will spoil any night vision.
Keep in mind the lights are not
to see where you are going......but to alert other
sailors to your location. Bring your lights....and
there may be extras for those who have none.
So we now have one more thing to
HOWL about!
See You on the Ice!
